Hotel Friheden
In 1946 the Kjøller family built the hotel, then called Pension Friheden. The hotel was run by the family until 1993, in which John K. Stender took over the hotel.
In the mid-1970s Hotel Friheden partially burnt down and was immediately reconstructed.
In 1988 the hotel was substantially enlarged. In this connection, a new wing with 23 rooms, a wing with common facilities, the reception and the swimming pool area with pool, sauna and spa were built to improve the quality of the hotel.
John Stender has worked closely with his son-in-law, Klaus Juhl, to renovate and develop Hotel Friheden, so that today, the hotel is one of Bornholm’s finest and most well-managed hotels.
On 1 April 2005, John’s daughter, Mie Juhl, and her husband, Klaus Juhl, took over Hotel Friheden. The couple shares the day-to-day management of the hotel.
We are looking forward to welcoming you!
